I have worked with IT systems since 1994. In recent years, mostly finding the holes in them — for clients, in lectures, and in the media when someone needs to explain why a thing went wrong.
MajhenLabs is my lab. Into it I've put what thirty years of work have taught me about where systems break — and set it loose to do that for free.
The arithmetic is simple. Most of the flaws I find are the same three or four things, over and over. There's no reason to charge for them. Let the tool find them, let people fix them themselves. What's left is the work that genuinely needs a person.
The plan is to keep adding to the lab — each new tool I add looks at one more thing it can't see today.
If you have a suggestion for something a check should also look at, write to me at robert@majhenlabs.com. The list of tools keeps growing, and a suggestion is the quickest way for something new to get onto it.
